Mini-waste disposal, anti-pollution barrier, submerged bins to suck the waste to the surface of the water…

Since 2013, the Saint-Florent marina has been striving to make its structure a model in terms of ecology. The seaside city of Nebbiu intends to remain at the forefront in this area.

In the wake of the OFB’s awareness-raising campaign, the harbour master’s office unveiled a major project in the pipes: the installation of a anchorage area organized in the Gulf of Saint-Florent and mooring boxes for large units.

“This new system is being studied and should be operational by 2022, says Mayor Claudy Olmeta.  This is a project that is part of a rational management of our coastline. It will maximize the economic benefits of recreational boating by welcoming new units while minimizing the environmental impact.

This 100-seat anchorage area will be equipped with light equipment and will be set up as part of a partnership with the marine park and the Office of the Environment. A project that is also based on an eco-design approach. The idea is to offer a range of services around this area, such as wastewater recovery, explains David Donnini, harbour manager.  This will be complemented by other actions, including the installation of nurseries to replenish aquatic fauna and allow scientific monitoring of Gulf species. ‘

To keep the focus on the environment.
