Biohut ® is an artificial housing environment which allows to rehabilitate the ecological function of nursery of the small rocky and sandy funds which were degraded by the construction of coastal arrangements (ports, envoys, offshore wind energy etc.).
The process aims at restoring the ecosystematic service of nursery, by protecting the post-larvas and the young recruits of the predation, so allowing them to achieve the ” size refuge ” and to contribute effectively to the increase of the adult population.
In a natural environment, fishes depend on favorable housing environments during their various stages of development. The small funds close to the bank are essential in this cycle. But today, the coastal arrangements impact on the function of nursery of the small funds, by modifying profoundly the essential housing environment of larvas. This pressure entraine a reduction in adult populations.
The role of Biohut ® is to replace the nursery subtracted by the man and to allow so to restore the natural cycle. This eco-service contributes to the restoring of the ecosystem.
