Please find below the prefectural order of 02 June 2020, concerning the regulation of ships and maritime activities.

PREFECTURAL DECREE NO. 104/2020 REGULATING THE NAVIGATION OF VESSELS AND MARITIME ACTIVITIES IN FRENCH MEDITERRANEAN INTERNAL AND TERRITORIAL WATERS TO COMBAT THE 2019 CORONAVIRUS EPIDEMIC (COVID-19).

List of articles from the order of 2 June 2020:
  • ARTICLE 1 This Order applies from 2 June to 15 June 2020, dates inclusive, in French inland and territorial waters of the Mediterranean, as well as on the bodies of water of lagoons and saltwater ponds on the maritime public domain.
  • ARTICLE 2 Under the law concerning beaches prohibited to the public by the prefect of the department, in application of the provisions of Article 46 of Decree No. 2020-663 of 31 May 2020, the’The anchoring and mooring of pleasure craft, and the launching of boats and watercraft from such craft, are prohibited within a 300-metre coastal strip.
    The restrictions concerning the stopping and anchoring of pleasure craft do not apply in cases of risk to people or maritime safety.
  • ARTICLE 3 The entry into French territorial or internal waters of a pleasure vessel flying a foreign flag and coming from a foreign port is prohibited, if the destination of this vessel is a port, anchorage or mooring located on the French coast. This prohibition does not apply to pleasure vessels flying a foreign flag transiting under the rules of innocent passage in French territorial waters.
    This ban does not apply to pleasure craft flying the Monegasque flag, which are authorised to navigate freely in French territorial waters.
  • ARTICLE 4 For public health reasons, the organisation of nautical events at sea is prohibited.
  • ARTICLE 5 Infringements of this order shall render their perpetrators liable to the proceedings and penalties provided for by Articles 131-13 and R. 610-5 of the Criminal Code, by Articles L. 5242-2 and L. 5243-6 of the Transport Code, and by Articles 6 and 7 of Decree No. 2007-1167 of 2 August 2007 mentioned above.
  • ARTICLE 6 This order repeals prefectural order no. 071/2020 of 18 May 2020.
  • ARTICLE 7 The departmental directors of territories and the sea of the Mediterranean maritime façade, and the officers and agents authorised in matters of navigation police, shall be responsible, each within their own remit, for the implementation of this order, which shall be published in the compilation of administrative acts of the maritime prefecture of the Mediterranean.
