«Dear Saint Florentine locals,

After a particularly challenging year in many respects in 2020, marked by a global health crisis, 2021 opens with hopes of better omens.

Despite this still troubled context, it is in my name and on behalf of the entire Saint-Florent town council that I extend my best wishes for happiness and prosperity for this new year.

May 2021 be a year of peace and success for you and your loved ones in all areas of life. In these particularly unusual times, the circumstances allow me more than ever to wish you a year full of health for you all and for those dear to you.

We are indeed living through difficult times and are experiencing a crisis of unprecedented scale since the post-war period. It is in this unprecedented situation that the new municipal team took office a few months ago, plunged into an emergency from the very first hours of their mandate.

This context requires us to redouble our efficiency, and we have a clear vision of the path to follow to calmly emerge from the tumultuous times we are living through.

Despite this unsettled period, positive prospects lie ahead. Some of our projects, such as the Aliso footbridge, have already come to fruition and many more are already underway. I’m thinking, for example, of the school expansion, the new multi-purpose hall, the modernisation of the wastewater treatment plant and the landscaping of the northern entrance to the municipality.

I associate with these various achievements, as well as previous and future ones, my deputies, the members of the municipal council, and all those who made it possible to carry them out.

At the dawn of this new mandate, I take this opportunity to wish the newly elected officials every success and good luck in their new roles. To meet the challenges that await us in the next six years, I know they will be able to rely on all the municipal staff.

The dedication of our agents, which is indispensable for the functioning of our municipality, is indeed undeniable. This daily commitment, like that of the associative fabric in many areas, finds.

More than ever, this global crisis is collectively teaching us that the values of proximity, solidarity, and listening must be the common thread running through our daily actions to work, together, towards the development of Saint-Florent and the well-being of its inhabitants.
