This Tuesday 20 November 2018, the director and agents of the port of Saint-Florent welcomed representatives of the marine park of Cap Corse and Agriate, of the C.E.D.R.E. (Centre for documentation, research and experimentation on accidental water pollution) and of the D.D.T.M., who analysed the possibility of installing an anti-pollution barrier at the entrance to the port.

We remind you that the port is engaged in an environmental policy and has carried out several installations in this regard: selective sorting throughout the port, mini waste disposal centre in the maintenance area, installation of Biohuts, obtaining the Blue Flag and applying for Port Propre certification.

The port of Saint-Florent is already equipped with 2 anti-pollution booms that can be quickly deployed in the event of a confirmed hydrocarbon pollution, over a total length of 50m.

How an Anti-Pollution Barrier Works

The port wishes to equip itself with greater resources today, and this inspection visit has made it possible to confirm the feasibility of this project, which will be carried out shortly.
