«Dear Saint-Florent residents,

A new year lies before us, and the town council joins me in extending our best wishes for happiness, success, and good health. May 2020 be a year full of satisfaction and opportunities for all of you, marked by prosperity and serenity.

At the start of this year, our thoughts go out to those who are suffering, struck by bereavement, illness, and subjected to the vagaries of precariousness.

The past few months have been particularly dynamic for our municipality, and I'm taking this opportunity to acknowledge the work of our municipal employees who, every day, demonstrate their dedication to serving our town. Several significant projects have recently been completed, and others are currently underway. Road and utility works have been carried out in several districts to meet the development needs of Saint-Florent. Our municipal school has undergone redevelopment and will feature new extensions, notably due to the opening of a new classroom. The marina continues its modernisation while maintaining a high level of environmental standards. Despite the restriction of resources affecting local authorities, these projects have been implemented without compromising the financial future of our municipality, thanks to sound management, which involves constantly seeking savings and anticipating investments.

The year 2020 will therefore see the completion of new projects. Currently under construction, a multi-purpose complex is due to be delivered at the end of the first half of the year. This new, modern and spacious infrastructure will host a number of cultural and sporting activities. In parallel, new developments have already been launched within the port area. A new footbridge over the Aliso, accessible to vehicles for the harbourmaster's office and emergency vehicles, will soon improve communication between the west quay and the town centre. This development is part of a larger project concerning the Aliso and the Roya, involving the creation of a promenade, a new playground and a space for young people. Following these projects, 2020 will be a year of significant achievements: increased parking capacity, redevelopment of the cathedral road, finalisation of the local urban plan...

Let's bet that all these projects will become a reality for the benefit of everyone and will unite us around the unwavering passion we have for our town. We will ensure that Saint-Florent continues its forward march and intensifies it.
