Relive this first edition of the Boating and Leisure show in Saint-Florent through photos and videos!

Thursday 02 May 2019:

  • Setting up the exhibition: municipal and port employees are busy preparing the exhibition:
    • Scene assembly,
    • Repatriation of marquees, tables, and chairs.,
    • Marquee assembly,
    • Table and chair placement.
  • Meanwhile, the boating professionals are setting up their boats in the car park and the marina.

A big thank you to the head of technical services, Mr. Antonelli, and to all the employees who did the same work in reverse after the trade show!

Friday 03 May 2019:

  • Discovering the many stands present:

    • Associations CorseaCare and Corsican Blue Project and the University of Corsica, represented with the platform Stella Mare, as well as the Cap Corse and Agriates Marine Park and CPIE U Marinu who work for the preservation of the environment and better management of the marine universe. The association of the « Friends of the Agriates »represented by Mr. Charles Pinelli who presented his archaeological discoveries to us. The boaters' association and the San Fiurenzu Yacht Club were also present as well as The harbourmaster's office.

 

  • In terms of leisure craft, there was plenty of choice! Saint-Florent Marine, Corsica Marine, Nauticorse Marchesi or else CN Parodi had many boats to show and test.



  • Stand prices:
    • sale of diving suits and spearguns at the stand of 2B immersion, Epsealon dealer,
    • the shop Dream of Fishing offered reels and fishing rods,
    • boat rentals with Dominique Plaisance and the possibility to register to take your boat license with them Sailing School Saint-Florent You
    • Sailing school MareTeam.
    • The company Adhéstil Protect gave us demonstrations of fitting protection onto a Jet Ski and a boat.
    • The Colour Workshop showcased his marine saddlery work.
    • The stand Central Corsican Organic proposed a revolutionary and ecological cleaner made from food oil!
    • Prop Eco Bat comes directly to your boat to clean it in an environmentally friendly way too.
  • And we mustn't forget our two craftspeople: the soap maker AS Figarella and of’ Esprit Atelier who had made small fleecy fish for the occasion.
  • The Saint-Florent rescue station who put on demonstrations of helicopter rescue and survival techniques to celebrate its 130th anniversary!
  • In the late morning, the restaurant's head chef Europe, Pascal Benvenuti, has prepared a delicious recipe for us using sea bass, with Cervione hazelnuts, rosemary and nepita!
  • At lunchtime, there's no shortage of choice! Le Bectoir offered trays of chips and hot dogs, the association « Youth of Saint-Florent » for drinks, the Darmama featuring a wide range of Moroccan specialities, the wine bar, Miss D and with champagne So Corsu, the restaurant’s cheese fritters The Olive Tree in Barbaggio and to finish with the lobster pasta our fishermen from Saint-Florent !

  • 4pm SNSM volunteers We carried out a demonstration of how to strike a life raft, with multiple very instructive explanations about its contents and how to use it correctly. This was followed by a demonstration of inflating a life jacket.


  • Late in the afternoon, Mr Guy Meria gave a talk on the Agriate trail that captivated many!
  • The evening ended with music and a beautiful sunset, with the band «Soul Revenge» !

Saturday 4 May 2019:

  • The day gets off to a flying start with a helicopter winch demonstration by The SNSM volunteers from Saint-Florent and the Dragons 2B pilots!

  • Late morning, France3corse Via Stella and RCFM visit us and interview the exhibitors and the port director, Mr. Donnini David.

  • At 11 am, the patrol boat from the SNSM sets sail again, accompanied by Father Georges Nicoli, for a ceremony at sea in memory of the missing.
    • The children are playing fishing on the stall. CPIE U Marinu, but be careful, you must throw back into the sea any species that cannot be caught! And the parents buy raffle tickets to support the association CorseaCare.

  • By midday the food stalls are filling up again!

  • The SNSM volunteers have once again carried out a presentation of the life raft and life jacket inflation.

 

  • In the early afternoon it's the chief's turn. Yann Le Scavarec, from the restaurant The Blunder, to prepare a recipe based on local fish for us. This time it will be sea bream with citrus fruits.


  • The president of the Saint-Florent rescue station, Mr Dan Muller, the patron of the rescue launch, General Vincent Lanata, and the president of the SNSM, Xavier De La Gorce, gave a speech for theIt's the 130th anniversary of the Saint-Florent rescue station.

  • The evening once again ended with a magnificent sunset accompanied by music from the band «The Spice Men»!


Sunday 05 May 2019:

The storm has risen… Wind and rain, this 3rd day will unfortunately be cancelled as a precaution. But it’s only a postponement…

We hope you enjoyed this first edition!

A big thank you to all the speakers and participants (speakers, marine and boating professionals, SNSM volunteers, association members, chefs, traders, artisans and our fantastic presenter, Mr Azara!) who embarked on this first adventure with us as well as to visitors!

Well done also to Ms. Sonia Louis who successfully brought to life the port director Mr. David Donnini's idea by setting up this Nautical and Boating Show.

Thanks also to Maria Delserre and Melzia for her sublime exhibition poster which was such a success! 

We apologise to those who were unfortunately unable to attend on Sunday, as well as to all the exhibitors, but it's only a postponement!
