The primary purpose of this mooring buoy is to reduce the impact on the environment. The tugboat «L'abeille Flandre» no longer needs to drop anchor with metres of chain, thus preserving the seabed, particularly the seagrass meadows.

Secondly, the mooring of the boat is secured and it will also allow for the safety of boats that have sustained damage.
