A high population density in certain public places makes it difficult to observe social distancing rules. In these conditions, wearing a mask helps to limit the transmission of the virus.Following consultation with the mayors concerned, the Prefect of Haute-Corse has decided to make the wearing of masks mandatory for persons aged 11 and over (excluding persons with disabilities in possession of a medical certificate) until 31 August 2020 in public spaces characterised by a high population density within the Haute-Corse territory.

In Saint-Florent, wearing a face mask is compulsory: – During the area known as the «port market» between 6 PM and 10 PM. Wearing a mask in densely populated areas supplements the existing obligation to wear a mask in enclosed public spaces. These locations were determined after observations by the police and gendarmerie and following discussions with the mayors of the municipalities concerned.Reminder of prevention advice for everyone:
- wear the mask ;
- Maintain a distance of at least one meter from others; ;
- wash your hands regularly or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser; ;
- cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue; ;
- avoid touching your face ;
- Greet without shaking hands and stop the kisses; ;
- use a disposable tissue; ;
- In case of symptoms suggestive of Covid-19 (fatigue, fever, muscle pain, cough, etc.), stay at home and avoid contact.
