More commonly known as the «careening area», the port's maintenance zone, located behind the paid car park, offers multiple services.
Crane service
For launching and landing boats up to 22m long and 6m wide maximum. The lifting crane has a maximum capacity of 60 tonnes.

Two crane operators (Eric Ventre and Charles Salotti) are on site all year round to respond to the requests of boaters and professionals. Boating.
The maintenance area has 15 to 18 spaces. (depending on the dimensions of the boats), for the maintenance and repair of boats. The area is perfectly equipped with moorings to accommodate all types of boats (sail or motor), the equipment is new.
The positioning of the sailboats is doubly secured by the use of straps and concrete blocks, if the sailboat is light with a large wingspan, for example, for more safety.
The service has also equipped itself with strap markers who are fitted to boats according to their propulsion systems, for avoid damaging the boat and the probes.
The straps are doubled for lifting boats over 35 tonnes.
Our cranes can perform up to 400 moorings during the season + approximately 300 launches.
«Clean point» service»
Boaters have a recycling centre available to them, which includes :
A tank for Used oils
A tank for edible oils
A tank for Spent fuels + hydrocarbons
A bin for the Collection of mechanical filters (to air, petrol, oil)
A storage area for Used batteries and accumulators

Please check with employees before disposing of your waste!
When the tanks are full, a private company comes on-site, either it exchanges them with an empty tank, or it proceeds to pump them out.
Each tank change or pumping is charged at the port of Saint-Florent, but refills remain free for pleasure boaters and nautical professionals.
The distress flares are collected by a private company that travels all around Corsica's ports.
All other recyclable waste such as metals, wood, etc. are taken at the Saint-Florent recycling centre by the crane operators (see our article on the recycling centre for more details).
Please note: Producers and holders of used cooking oils (UCO) must comply with general regulations for non-hazardous waste (Articles R. 541-7 to R.541-11 of the Environmental Code). As such, used cooking oils (UCO) can neither be disposed of through the usual household waste channels nor be discharged into wastewater systems.
It is forbidden to mix used cooking oils with other products or waste. They must be collected and treated by an approved organisation, meaning one holding a prefectural permit.
The pumps in the maintenance area
Pumps for the filtration of effluent from the maintenance area
Two fixed pumps with an underground tank beneath the maintenance area collect all the effluents flowing from the area via a channel.
The wastewater is mechanically filtered by a screen (which separates coarse solids) then decanted for a minimum of 24 hours in the vats.
The pumps then send the effluent to a filter column which removes suspended matter, hydrocarbons, and heavy metals.
Finally, the filtered effluent is safely discharged into the harbour.
Fixed pumps for greywater and blackwater
The pump has 2 inlets: one for grey water (used running water on boats) and one for black water (septic tank).
The grey water is sent to the drain in the maintenance area to be filtered.
Black water is sent directly into the sewer to arrive at the wastewater treatment plant. (see our article on the Saint-Florent wastewater treatment plant).
Mobile pump for greywater and blackwater
A mobile pump for black and grey water is also available for boaters.
It can be brought as close as possible to the boats but it is also necessary so that a manhole is nearby to be able to discharge the black water into it.
These pumps are available for leisure boaters, they can be used upon request.
Anti-pollution barrier.
The maintenance area also has of an anti-pollution boom ready for very rapid deployment in the event of a confirmed pollution incident in the port.
