The hostesses of CPIE Bastia were this afternoon on the Roya beach and at the Saint-Florent marina to raise awareness among boaters about invasive marine species.

The awareness campaign Alien Corset Its aim is to inform beach users and boaters about invasive marine species and how to report them. It is supported by the Corsican Environment Agency.

ℹ️ The main species present in Corsica are:

  • The flat crab of sea urchins which feeds on the same resources as sea urchins and prevents their development,
  • Caulerpa cylindracea, also known as sea grapes because this algae resembles grapes and colonises almost all types of substrates. To prevent its spread, do not discard it into the sea if you retrieve it with your anchor. Anchor You must keep it and throw it in the bin when you return to shore.
