Women with breast cancer or in remission participated in the 8theme Corsica Classic edition, during the stage day of 9 September in Saint Florent.

Good humour and cheerfulness were the watchwords for this «ROSE» Regatta day, which took place within the Corsica Classic. A spirit that matches that of the other «ROSE» Regattas by SOS Cancer du Sein. Open to all CIM-measured traditional yachts and IRC 2017-measured «Spirit of Tradition» yachts, the Corsica Classic is part of the official circuit organised by the Comité International de Méditerranée and the Association Française des Yachts de Tradition (AFYT). Over its 7 editions, it has become a must-attend sporting event in the Mediterranean and the only race to sail around Corsica for a week. This event was conducted with the collaboration and support of CPAM Corse Sud, the La Marie DO Association, and the Fédération Française de Voile.

The port of Saint-Florent supports the initiative of the association SOS Cancer du Sein, which organises «ROSE» Regattas every year. This is a solidarity sailing event designed to draw public attention to the importance of organised breast cancer screening. The «ROSE» Regattas are a way to encourage affected women to engage in regular physical activity to reduce the risk of recurrence and to introduce them to the pleasures of sailing and the sea. Participating in the «Rose» Regattas is an opportunity to escape and momentarily forget about illness. It also allows women to realise that despite their illness, and perhaps because of it, they can have extraordinary experiences that are not accessible to everyone. There is nothing better for feeling valued and regaining self-confidence and trust in the world around them.

The ninth Corsica Classic will take place from 23 August to 2 September 2018, with the 9th edition taking place on Saturday 1 September.th race from Macinaggio to Saint-Florent and on Sunday 2 September the prize-giving ceremony will take place on the honour quay of Saint-Florent harbour.
