The port of Saint-Florent will soon be implementing fish nurseries in the port as part of the Biohut® project.
Quays, breakwaters, or any other coastal developments become veritable refuges for many aquatic species.
The process aims to restore the nursery ecosystem service by protecting juvenile recruits from predation, thus allowing them to reach “refuge size” so they can effectively contribute to the growth of adult populations.
