- Gilets: Test gas cartridges (to be replaced every 2 years)
- VHF: Test battery and range (Channel 16 = emergency)
- Fire extinguishers: check the expiry date

Can I sail without a VHF radio?
No, VHF is mandatory for boats > 6 m when coastal cruising. Channel 16 must be monitored at all times. -
What to do if your engine breaks down?
Remain calm and on board. Drop a sea anchor to avoid drifting. Alert rescue services via VHF (Channel 16) or telephone (196). -
Is my life jacket still valid?
Check the expiration date (5 to 10 years). CO2 cartridges must be changed every 2 years.
